Structure prompts for long documents, and ask them better questions than a plain summary.

The lesson
For long inputs, the prompt structure matters. Put instructions at the top and bottom, with the document in between.
Useful summary asks beyond "summarise this":
- "What are the 3 things I'd be embarrassed not to know from this?"
- "What's missing or weak in the argument?"
- "Who is this written for, and what do they want me to do?"
