Your first great prompt

Write a prompt with the four ingredients that turn a vague request into a useful answer: role, task, context and format.

Day 1 of Prompting Path, a 30-day AI course with one 10-minute lesson and one real task a day. Day 0 to Day 8 are free.

The lesson

The biggest beginner mistake: prompts that are too short and too vague. "Write me an email" gets you a generic email. "Write me a polite, two-paragraph email to my landlord asking to fix the leaking radiator in the bedroom, friendly tone, mention I've reported it twice already" gets you something useful.

A good prompt usually has four ingredients:

Today's task is in the app

Every day ends with a small, real task and a tip, and they live in the app. Pop in your email once and every free day opens up, with your progress saved as you go. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot, and the free tiers are enough.
